Donald E. Herrold

Donald E. Herrold is one of the firm’s original founders. A 1962 Oklahoma University graduate in History and Government and a 1966 graduate of The University of Tulsa College of Law, Don’s practice focuses upon real estate transactions and finance, wills, trusts and estate planning, business organizations, commercial contracts, civil litigation and arbitration. Don’s 40-year marriage to his high school sweetheart, Mary, his sons, David, Daniel and Matthew, and six grandchildren are the “lights” of his life. Don and his wife are active members of Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa, where Don teaches an adult class each Sunday and also a bible study every Wednesday.

"Sooner born and Sooner bred," OU athletics has been a part of Don’s life since his elementary school days. Before becoming a lawyer, Don worked in risk appraisal, analysis and administration of property and casualty self-insurance programs for Pan American Petroleum Corporation (now BP-Amoco), insurance sales, electrical motor maintenance and repair and mental health related occupations. He also spent nearly four years of active duty naval service as a line officer during the Vietnam war with two tours to WESTPAC in 1966-1968 aboard the USS Canberra (CAG-2) as the ship’s tactical operations intelligence, gunnery liaison, X division, legal, CIC watch and OOD-F officer. His final 18 months in the Navy were spent as legal officer at an S2F Training Squadron 28 (VT-28), NAS Corpus Christi, Texas. Don entered the Navy as an Ensign and left the service as a Lieutenant Commander in JAG Corps; he graduated from the U.S. Naval Justice School in 1966. He is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in and governing Oklahoma.
